We've never stopped. Driveways North East is a Durham-based family business. We help homeowners across County Durham, Tyne & Wear and the Tees Valley replace tired, sunken or unsafe drives with surfaces that hold their shape for the next two decades, not the next two winters. We specialise in four surfaces: resin bound, block paving, tarmac and natural stone patios. We chose those four deliberately. It's enough variety to suit any property in the North East, but narrow enough that we're genuinely expert in each one, not a jack of all trades who'll lay anything you point at. Twenty years on the same patch means we know what's under the ground in Durham, what salt air does to edging in Sunderland, and why so many 1970s Washington drives sink within one year. That's not marketing speak, it's the difference between a driveway that lasts and a driveway that doesn't. Every job is done by our in-house crew. No subcontractors turning up on the day, no surprise faces, no shortcuts. Same team, same standard, every installation across the North East. How we work ## Our standards, and what they actually mean. "Quality" is the most overused word in this industry. Here's what it means on our jobs, in concrete terms. ### Built to outlast the warranty Every installation is specced to last 20+ years, not the 10 we guarantee. We dig out properly, lay full-depth MOT Type 1, and use structural edging, even where you can't see it. ### Written, itemised, honest Every quote is in writing: materials, prep depth, edging spec, drainage, timeframe. No verbal numbers, no day-of surprises, no chasing extras once we've started. ### Our crew, every time Same in-house team on every job. No subcontractors. If something goes wrong, the person who laid it is the person who comes back to fix it. Our guarantee ### 1-year workmanship guarantee in writing on every installation. - Fully insured: comprehensive liability cover - Manufacturer-backed resin warranties (15–20 years) - Free no-obligation site visits, written quote in 2–3 days - Commercial and private/residential, all scales The numbers ## Measurable proof, not slogans. 20+ Years installing in the NE Over two decades hands-on, since before resin bound was mainstream. From £2,500 Driveways start at Honest, itemised pricing. Commercial and private/residential jobs, all scales. 2–3 days Written quote turnaround Free no-obligation site visit, written quote within 2–3 days, work typically starts within 2 weeks of acceptance. 1 yr Workmanship guarantee On every install, in writing.
